  • High School Girl.....

Around the time I joined Jen’s girl’s group, I was a freshman in high school struggling deeply with body image and self-love. It involved a group of young girls who also struggled with the same thing and for a lot of us, for the first time we were learning it was a normal thing and we were not alone. We learned how to do self-affirmations, and that is still a tool I use to this day, and something I can confidently say has helped me in the way I perceive myself. Compared to then, there is a difference in the way I love my body, myself, and even others. Even during that brief time in the girl’s group, I learned so much and I am very grateful for that. -Ruby

  • Taking Time for Myself

I thought Jen was crazy when she asked us to sit quietly for 10 min and do nothing….no phone or music? But honestly sitting there with my thoughts got me to start journaling. Now i do it every night before bed. -Anonymous

  • How you talk to yourself matters

We had to write down 5 negative things we tell ourselves then turn to our friends and tell them~ It was the hardest thing I ever had to do but it taught me that I shouldn’t talk to myself like that either. -M

  • Just do it~

Jen’s approach and honest feedback. There were several tough things that I needed to work through and she provided redirection when needed, confirmed what steps and things are in my best interest.

Just start, don’t be nervous about the whole path in front of you, just take the first step.

Jen is amazing at guiding you through what you are going through. ~ N

  • I feel more self aware of my emotions.

I liked just talking about stuff and when we did the worksheets i felt like i realized my emotions more. I’m looking for approval in others even though i know I’m made in the image of god. like how to be satisfied in knowing god made me. I feel like in middle school there’s a lot of pressure with fitting in, so maybe highlighting the fact of how to be yourself and still feeling confident.   ~14 year old girl
